Gary was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio until he went to university in Upland Indiana at Taylor University.
His love for music began at an early age. Gary loved The Bee Gees as a boy and was exposed to U2 as a high schooler, and it radically impacted him. Throughout high school and college Gary played in several bands.
After graduating from college, he moved to Nashville Tennessee for five years worked with the band One Forty One. Gary co-wrote songs with bandmate Layne Ihde, played rhythm guitar, and provided back-up and occasionally lead vocals.
One Forty One toured the country with Code of Ethics and recorded a demo at the house of blues in Memphis that earned the top spot in Sony’s internet national battle of the bands in 1997.
Since leaving One Forty One, Gary has been writing and recording songs for fun and has played occasionally in church worship bands.
